Electronic Portfolios in the
College of Education and Human Services
The electronic portfolios that you find
here are samples that have been created with the sole purpose of
charting a course for Seton Hall University's pre-service teachers in
the College of Education and Human
Services Department of Educational Studies who
are charged with the task of documenting a like account of their years of higher education at
Seton Hall University.
The portfolio creation
process documents the student's work and accomplishments
over an extended period of time. Portfolios are a tool for
reflecting on learning and teaching and the discovery of the links
between the two.
The purpose of this medium is to provide those
interested parties with a better understanding of the student's class work,
future goals and aspirations, experiences and reflections; all in an
effort to become the best teachers that they can be upon entering their
own classrooms.
The electronic portfolio
process has been funded by a U.S. Department of
Education grant awarded to Seton Hall University (1999) to Prepare
Tomorrow's Teachers to Use Technology.
