Offered on a convenient schedule, weekends and summers, this rigorous, 54- credit accelerated program meets the needs of working administrators. Classes meet on 10 weekends (Friday evenings from 5 to 10 p.m., Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.) during the fall and spring over two years. There are six weekends in the first year (April prior to the first summer session, September, November, January, March and May) and four weekends in the second year (September, November, January and March). Students also meet by appointment and via-email with their dissertation mentors and dissertation committee members. There are two 16 day summer sessions during the month of July.  Classes take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thus, the content courses are completed over a 20-month period.  The dissertation topic is chosen by the end of the first summer session.  A Qualifying Examination is administered after the first summer session.  The Comprehensive Assessment follows the second summer session.  This accelerated may be completed in two years.  Under certain circumstances, and with prior approval, dissertation completion may extend to a third year.

Thirty candidates are admitted to the program annually after careful screening of application documents and personal interviews with the finalists. This cohort remains together for the duration of the program. There is no advanced standing.  All students complete the total program within the prescribed time.  A collegial study environment allows ample time for professional sharing and cooperative activity. The seminar format, study teams and computer conferencing among the members and with the instructors further this goal of collegiality.

Each module (course) is taught by a full-time professor and an experienced practitioner who together provide the balance of sound theory and practical application.

In support of a fast-start on the dissertation and at-elbow support throughout the process, each candidate is assigned to a full-time staff member who acts as adviser/mentor immediately upon successful completion of the Qualifying Examination.
