PROFESSOR BRINGS
MOM TO CLASS!
Summer-I ESLP classes were treated
to a special guest visit by Professor Teresita Blake
Kellenyi's mom (also Mrs. Blake). Joined by Prof. Larry
Marx's class, students asked questions and were offered a
full range of
interesting views and stories from this remarkably clear and
wise woman. Topics included life in the U.S.
compared to her native Chile, experiences with her nine
children and 27 grandchildren, her volunteer work with a
medical center, her 60-year marriage, and even apple pie,
among her favorite foods. The
effect
of this fun meeting was a sweet reminder of all our Moms,
wherever they may be, and the precious gift of family which
we all share. |

SUCCESS
STORY for YUL
Thanks to her hard work and
dedication to her career goals, Ms.
Yul Kim, one of our ESLP participants, has been offered a
full-time position in the prestigious Montefiore Dialysis
Center in New York.
Yul had already passed the NCLEX (National Nursing Exam), and
qualified as a Registered Nurse in New York. She has been
sharpening her English skills in order to communicate.
At the interview at Montefiore, for which she had prepared
intensively, she said she felt composed and surprisingly
confident.
When asked for tips that she would like to pass on to
her fellow international colleagues, Yul said, "At the
interview, don't be shy. Feel free to express your
opinions and observations. Ask questions (except about
salary). Just be yourself." Yul's success is
an inspiration to all of us. |
