M.A. in Human Resources Training and Development – New Jersey State Police Graduate Studies Program/Probation Community Justice Graduate Studies Program

Program Overview
The Department of Education Leadership, Management and Policy offers a Master of Arts in Human Resources Training and Development designed primarily for members of the New Jersey and New York law enforcement communities. Established more than 20 years ago, the program helps students strengthen their professional knowledge and skills, while increasing their capacity for leadership in their respective law enforcement settings. The program is distinctive in that it allows students to attend classes on-campus as well as classes at law enforcement sites in northern and southern New Jersey. In addition to the master’s program, the department also offers a certificate program for students who successfully complete 12 credits in either Human Resources Training and Development or Leadership and Management.

Degree Requirements
Students admitted to the Graduate Studies Programs must satisfy all University, College and program criteria. These criteria include earning 36 credits in foundation and concentration courses while maintaining a graduate academic record of 3.0. Up to 6 graduate credits earned recently at another accredited college or university may be accepted in partial satisfaction of graduate degree requirements. Students enrolled in the certificate program are classified as non-matriculated students and may formally apply for admission at the completion of 12 credits.

Candidates for these programs are required to complete 18 foundation credits and 18 concentration credits for a total of 36 credits as follows:
  1. Foundation (18 credits)
