Joseph De
Pierro, Ed.D., is Dean of the College of Education and Human Services at
Seton Hall University. Widely known throughout the Seton Hall community, De
Pierro has served as chair of the Department of Educational Studies; acting
chair of the Department of Counseling and Special Services, program director
for Elementary Education and General Professional Education, and acting dean
of the College in previous years. He has also served the College as director
of the Educational Services Center, director of graduate admissions and
coordinator for various accreditation initiatives such as NASDTEC and NCATE.
Dr. De Pierro is an alumnus of Seton Hall University, having
received his B.S. in 1965 with a dual major in English and education, and
his M.A. in 1969 with a concentration in reading. He pursued doctoral
studies at Rutgers University in the areas of education, reading and
linguistics, and received an Ed.D. in 1976. He has taught in both public and
private schools at a variety of age and grade levels, and he has extensive
clinical experience in reading and writing development. As a faculty member,
he has taught courses in language arts, statistics, technology and basic
skills, and he has served as advisor to undergraduate students and mentor to
doctoral candidates

Manina Urgolo Huckvale, Ed.D., is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Her chief responsibilities are field experiences and certification (teacher, administrative, school nurse and speech/language specialist).
Dr. Urgolo Huckvale is a former speech pathologist and special education teacher with certificates in New Jersey and New York. She also holds a certificate in supervision in New Jersey. Prior to coming to Seton Hall University, she taught in the United States and Canada and piloted a program on behavior management for the Canadian federal government.
Dr. Urgolo Huckvale also has a degree in public administration with a concentration in health care. She has previously worked in the Education Department at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange.
Dr. Urgolo Huckvale is actively involved in state and national associations involved with teacher education. She is the Title II coordinator for Seton Hall University and is an active participant on the Community Standards Board in the Division of Student Affairs.
Dr. Urgolo Huckvale is the mother of Alexander, a fire fighter, and Lesley, a student at Seton Hall University.
Marianne Coppola
is the Director for Budget and Operations. Her chief responsibilities are
administration and maintenance of operations within the College of
Education Human Services; management of the operating budgets, and the
budgets of special programs including externally funded grants.
She has a B.S. in Management Science - Finance with a dual major in Economics from Kean University, and has additional graduate credits from Seton Hall University.
She has had extensive experience in office management, facilities management and financial administration. For over 20 years, she was an administrator for a large, international architectural/engineering firm headquartered in Manhattan. She coordinated the restoration of a National Historic Landmark facility where the firm relocated its New Jersey operation, and was responsible for the construction budget.
For relaxation, she enjoys boating at the Jersey Shore, reading, yoga and tai chi.
