National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)
We are pleased to announce that the College of Education and Human Services has been awarded NCATE (National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education) full accreditation. NCATE is the premier accrediting body for schools and colleges of education. NCATE has been authorized by the U.S. Department of Education to determine which schools and colleges meet rigorous national standards in preparing teachers, school leaders and other school specialists to serve children in P-12 schools. American Psychological Association (APA)

The Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) through its Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation (750 First Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002-4242; Phone 202-336-5979) since October 22, 1999.  APA is the only organization authorized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit doctoral-level professional psychology programs.  APA accreditation offers assurance to prospective and current students that the program meets the standards of the profession of Counseling Psychology.

 

Commission On Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE)
The Ed.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy has been granted accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) effective July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2008.  COAMFTE is the national accrediting agency for marriage and family therapy education and training. The long-standing concern of the Commission and its predecessors has been for increased professional quality of service to the public and to excellence in standards of graduate degree and post-degree programs. The Commission is responsible for establishing these standards in clinical education for the profession of marriage and family therapy, and for the review and recognition of those programs that successfully meet these standards.
