Counseling Program Faculty Search

Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, Ten-Month Appointment in the Counseling and School Counseling Programs in the Department of Professional Psychology and Family Therapy.  The successful candidate is expected to teach graduate courses in mental health and school counseling in both online and traditional formats, participate in curriculum and program development, advise graduate students, conduct research in an area of personal interest, and provide clinical coordination for the online M.A. and Ed.S. programs offered through SetonWorldWide. Summer teaching is usually available though not required.

This position requires a doctorate in counselor education or a closely related area, evidence of scholarly productivity, the ability to meet requirements for N.J. licensure as a professional counselor, and demonstrated commitment to and involvement with professional associations (ACA and divisions).  Demonstrated commitment to and experience with multicultural counseling and diversity is also required. Preferred qualifications include a degree from a CACREP accredited doctoral program, recent graduate level teaching experience, counseling experience in K-12 schools and certification as a school counselor, and experience incorporating technology in instructional practices. Successful experience with the CACREP accreditation process is helpful.

In addition to graduate programs in counseling and school counseling, the department offers M.A. and Ed.S. programs in marriage and family therapy, school psychology, and psychological studies;  and a Ph.D. program in counseling psychology.
